God answers prayer, friends, and for that i am thankful today. there have been so many instances in the past few days where i've prayed to Him, about big and small things alike, and He faithfully comes through. my car needed fixed in Virginia, so i prayed. less than five minutes later, along comes a man who helps me out with it. car fixed. just like that. i was hungry for Italian food, but didn't want to wait in line for forty minutes. out of nowhere, a man comes rushing up to us. "take my place," he tells us. five minutes later, we're sitting at a table, chuckling that God loves us so much that He even cares about whether i get to eat my pollo rosa maria and garlic bread!
with today came probably the sweetest answer to prayer yet. as you know, my Papa is in hospice, in the final stages of cancer. he's in Canada; i'm in Pennsylvania. i can't go up there to see him--and i'm okay, totally at peace with that. but i just wanted to tell him one last time that i love him. today, my aunt calls. we chat for a few minutes and then she says, "Papa can't really talk right now, but is there anything you want to say to him?" she holds the phone up to his ear, and through my tears, i tell my Papa how much i love him.
yes. God answers prayer. He cares about the things that my heart cares for. and i am so thankful.
