thankful: thirteen

today, i'm thankful for prayer. i am thankful that i have full access at any given moment to the Creator of the universe and the Lover of my soul. as i sat and prayed with my dear friend Denise this afternoon, i was struck by what an honor and privilege it is to be able to speak to Jesus. and what's even more amazing is that He hears. my prayers do not fall on deaf ears; He listens attentively and hears every single word.

thank you, God, that i am able to come to you any time. whether i'm sad or scared or celebrating and thankful, you are there. you hear each prayer, and you understand every word i say. i can't get over just how awesome that is. continue to draw me closer to you. let me be so near to you, in constant communion with you, so that my prayers become as natural as breathing.
